Luxor Hot-Air Balloon Ride: Is It Worth It From Hurghada?

Flights take off at dawn, which is why you can't do it on a same-day trip from Hurghada. You need a night in Luxor, as on our two-day Luxor trip.
How a balloon morning works
- Pickup from your Luxor hotel before sunrise and a short boat crossing to the West Bank.
- Tea while the balloons inflate — a spectacular sight in itself.
- Around 45 minutes to an hour in the air, drifting with the wind.
- A gentle landing in the fields, then transfer back to your hotel for breakfast.
Safety and cancellations
Balloon flights are regulated, and flights are cancelled when wind conditions aren't suitable. On our trips, if the authorities cancel flights, the balloon price is refunded. Listen to the pilot, hold on during landing and keep your camera strap secure.
What to wear
It's cold before sunrise and warm by landing — wear layers, closed shoes and a hat against the burner's heat above you.
Is it worth it?
If you can spend a night in Luxor, yes. It turns a long day into a relaxed two-day journey and adds the most beautiful view in Egypt. Pair it with Karnak and the Valley of the Kings.
