The marina is still quiet when you board, coffee in hand, the sun low over the water. As the boat heads north, the crew hands out breakfast snacks and your guide explains the one rule that matters today: the dolphins set the pace, not us.
Shaab El Erg is a vast horseshoe of reef, and in the morning its lagoon is often calm and glassy. When the pod is resting there, you'll see fins breaking the surface first, then the sound of breath as they rise. If the guide confirms they're relaxed, you slip quietly into the water and float at the surface while they glide beneath you. It is a genuinely moving experience — and because we don't chase them, it lasts longer.
Even on days when the dolphins decide to be elsewhere, you won't feel short-changed: two more reef stops later in the day are some of the best snorkelling north of Hurghada.

What if we don't see dolphins?
It happens occasionally. You still get two excellent reef stops. Dolphins are wild and their presence cannot be promised by any honest operator.
Can children swim with the dolphins?
Children can join with a life jacket and stay with a parent, but the lagoon can be deep and open, so we recommend it for confident young swimmers.
Is this a dolphin show?
No. We do not sell captive dolphin shows. This trip visits wild dolphins in their natural habitat.
Will we be allowed to touch the dolphins?
No. Touching, feeding or chasing wild dolphins is harmful and not allowed. The best encounters happen when you stay calm and let them approach.
How many boats are at the Dolphin House?
It can be busy later in the morning, which is why we leave early. Guides also keep our group away from other swimmers where possible.
Is breakfast included?
Light breakfast snacks, tea and coffee are served on the way out, and a full lunch later in the day.
Can I cancel if the weather looks bad?
Yes — free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup, and if the port closes, we rebook or refund you in full.
